We always have many opportunities which don't involve construction, we've listed some below. Writers People to take on periodic writing projects: such as construction manuals, committee manuals, help with newsletters, both committee and affiliate, brochures, as needed. Would be expected to write and carry out publication of work desired.
Real Estate Spotters Someone to help locate and negotiate for land in different parts of Washington County. We would prefer local contacts in different towns or boroughs through out the Mon Valley, the northern part of the county as well as the communities of Washington & Canonsburg, and surrounding areas. These 'spotters' would identify available sites, and work up an evaluation using the checklist we have developed. These postions could serve on our Site Selection Committee if they desire.
Architectural Drafter Conversion of paper based drawings for our two standard designs to electronic documents.
Construction Project Coordinator Develops mateials lists or 'take offs' and issues requests for bids & purchase orders for materials required for this years building projects. Person can act in this capacity for one or more projects as they see fit..
Construction Driver Backup for our materials expeditor. Coordinates materials that need to be on hand at the work sites on weekends. Purchases material and arranges for delivery to work sites. Must have access to minivan or SUV; towing hitch is useful but not required. Also need someone during week to pick up donated materials.
Publicity People who are experienced in Public Relations: and working with the media to help initiate, write, and coordinate media coverage.
Office Help People to help in the Office: 10-2, M-F. Answer phones, coordinate info. on computers, special projects. Affiliate historian and researcher: to find historical data from files. Someone to keep all grant exhibits up-to-date. Special projects in the office, mailings, odds and ends.
Graphics Designer Periodic projects and/or to create a monthly newsletter for our volunteer and donor supporters.
Once-A-Year or Short-Term Help Collegiate Challenge: Work on Collegiate Challenge Committee to solicit or prepare food for college students and schedule their work .
Hospitality Group Lunch Coordinator for Construction Volunteers:: Someone to coordinate donated lunches through local restaurants and volunteer Church groups and individuals willing to cook for a group of between 15-25 workers. We do this as an expression of appreciation to our volunteers. Coodinator ensures delivery of lunches and servers @ job sites by noon during the months of June, July and August.
Volunteer Cooks People willing to cook for a group of 15-25 of volunteers and deliver and serve @ local job sites in Washington and Canonsburg.
Computer Technician To create a LAN for our growing office in downtown Washington.
